Should My Family Visit Assisted Living?
My mom and dad recently moved to assisted living. With family celebrations and holidays coming up, I want my grandchildren—their great-grandchildren—to visit and spend time with them. However, like all kids, they can sometimes be noisy and rambunctious.
I don’t want the children upsetting other people there. What should I do?
Families Are Always Welcome
We love children. Our residents love children. Our team members love children. In fact, your parents’ visitors are always welcome to participate in all our activities, celebrations, and family events at all of our communities.
At Mill Run Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living, some of the activities family members may enjoy include outings to local restaurants, trips to the movies, Sunday brunch, monthly Brunch & Learn events, family dinners, holiday celebrations, musical entertainers and much more.
If they prefer, your parents can entertain in their suite, which offers separate living, sleeping and kitchenette areas and a full private bath. You can all dine together restaurant-style in our dining room or in their suite. And you can enjoy family time in our public areas, such as our beautifully landscaped courtyards, welcoming patios, and comfortable lounges.
Sure, we love children, but one of the reasons we encourage families to visit is because it improves the health and happiness of the entire family—great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, and children.
Feel free to bring the entire family to Mill Run or any MacIntosh community. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to call Mill Run at (614) 527-3000 or contact me.
